The Greenhorn Internship Program is structured to give marketing students exposure to real-world aspects of the advertising field. This is a holistic experience from which interns will take away a strong understanding of the field in its entirety. This is crucial as interns are key members of the incoming generation of marketing professionals. H&L’s office culture is welcoming and friendly, and every member of the team is more than willing to give career advice and insight into their department. Ultimately, this program is intended to open the door for a group of talented young people and help them break into the world of advertising.
To hone the skills and stoke the vision of upstart advertising professionals. To foster a collaborative, creative exchange within the agency that promotes ideas and ingenuity. To learn as much as we teach. To never finish building this program.
We believe that the first step to a successful career in this industry is through invaluable, hands-on experience. The Greenhorn Program is an immersive experience in which interns play an active role in a full-service advertising agency. Interns are given real projects for actual clients, including routing creative work, sitting in on client meetings, presenting competitive analyses, writing creative briefs or copy for commercials, and taking part in photo shoots—all depending on the day. The Greenhorn Program is about learning the business. Interns gain this knowledge from experience, through team projects and through the efforts of internship supervisors, who help demystify the inner workings of the advertising world.
