H&L Partners Expands to New Markets, Adds New Clients in Additional Business Sectors Following Marquee Year in 2019
Independent, Oakland-based agency also continues to grow existing relationships like McDonaldʼs as it furthers a national growth strategy by enhancing in-house services
H&L Partners (H&L), a full-service independent marketing and advertising agency, announced that it has expanded into new markets and diversified its client roster as it advances a national growth strategy. The agency has expanded to nine offices across the country, including Miami and Phoenix, entered new industry sectors like insurance and banking and also grown revenue by fifteen percent. H&Lʼs clients now represent a range of industries, including automotive, retail/fast-food, consumer packaged goods, tourism, insurance, banking and B2B.
“As the advertising industry continues to evolve, weʼve found success by focusing on building a national network powered by on-the-ground staff with immense local-market knowledge,” said Trey Curtola, President of H&L. “Moreover, weʼve enhanced in-house services, like insights and analytics and a new production studio to provide smart, efficient solutions for our clients. Our clients hire us because we are where our clients are, serving as true, collaborative business partners focused on results.”
H&Lʼs new production studio, Wolf House Productions, is the agencyʼs fully integrated in-house studio providing filming, editing, motion graphics and other post-production capabilities all under the same roof. Wolf House Productions was designed to seamlessly execute and deliver efficient integrated creative campaigns without the need to engage outside vendors. Complementing Wolf House Productions is a robust new insights and analytics department with self-service programmatic capabilities that allow H&L to buy media inventory directly from a variety of sources while executing campaigns across media channels more seamlessly. Also, the development of in-house paid search expertise allows H&L to manage campaigns across search engines for clients. Whatʼs more, the agencyʼs recent move to a new building in Oaklandʼs Jack London Square provides a fresh, dynamic setting for cross collaboration and innovation as these teams continue to grow.
This strategy has directly resulted in new business wins among existing clients and a record number of invitations to pitch new assignments for potential clients. H&L has won McDonaldʼs business in 11 regions, representing 3,300 restaurants, or about 20% of McDonaldʼs franchises, from California to the Carolinas. New clients include industry-leading eye care benefits provider and eyewear manufacturer Vision Service Providers (VSP), AAA, Delta Community Credit Union and safety glove and equipment manufacturer SW Safety, among others. In conjunction with this account growth, the agencyʼs network has expanded to include nine offices: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Miami, Oakland, Phoenix, St. Louis and Tampa.
These successes have allowed H&L to advance award-winning campaigns as it continues to serve clients with world-class digital, production, media, creative and account services. For example, Wolf House Productions is currently developing a large-scale integrated campaign to leverage Toyotaʼs sponsorship of the 2020 Summer Olympics. Through a series of vignettes titled “What Drives You,” the campaign highlights the incredible stories of Northern California athletes on their Olympic journeys.
Additionally, H&L has created a winning formula by engaging high profile celebrities to promote clients in authentic and engaging ways. Recent work for Toyota includes partnering with baseball legend Willie Mays and San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, as well as Olympic Gold Medalists Jonny Moseley and Summer Sanders. H&L also tapped native St. Louisans, including John Goodman, Andy Cohen and Sterling K. Brown, for an award-winning campaign to promote travel to the Gateway City.
